This plate was probably made in British-occupied India in the later19th century of white marble and alabaster plus a black stone. Overall it is 10"d. The center roundel is 4-1/4"d while each of the six surrounding roundels is 2"d. One wears a turban, on the left, among the three small profiles facing right while the other three small profiles face left. The area in between the medallions features piercecut foliate scroll work. Note small chip in scroll at far right. A wire has been added for hanging. Names are etched on the back identifying the central person as Michelangelo. The turbanned male is Donatello, while the others are identified as Cellini, Salvator Rosa, Dali, Andrea di Sarto, and Beno (?)
