Ended Oil painting by Guerier, flowers in urn

Perhaps you can help us identify the artist, whose black script signing appears in the lower right portion of the painting of assorted flowers in an urn against dark background, 26"h x 36-1/4"w, in mid 20th century molded tan frame with inner edge band of wheat heads on diagonal, 34"h x 45"w. As you peruse the painting in detail, not only do you recognize the different types and colors of the flowers but also apparently a small dark blue glass vase lower left. Artist name may be "Guerier", but we are not sure. Note one small patch on the back of the canvas. The canvas appears to have been restretched, remounted, and cleaned.
