Ended Chinese round engraved brass tray

This brass tray is 1-1/2"h x 20"d, having a relatively deep "well" inside the 2-1/4"d rim with applied scalloping. The center displays calligraphy surrounded by a band of dots and triangles, within a wider band of 4 roundels, each depicting an engraved animal amid flowers/foliage, and interspersed by flowers/foliage, within a band of "X" motif, within an outer band of "spray" motif and dotted triangles. The rim band repeats these motifs. Note the punchwork of minute dimples throughout.
