These seven Antique Royal Doulton Madras Dinner Plates are from the 1840s and feature an intricate Chinese floral design with a deep gold rim. They are just over 10 ", and have the Royal Doulton Madras maker's mark on the back. As English China, they have a substantial weight and depth.
There are a few chips and one has been repaired which is not unusual for their age. The Antique Royal Doulton Madras Dinner Plates were purchased from an estate in the English Countryside, and are about as authentic as they can be!
Madras is one of the styles which made Royal Doulton famous, including the flow blue Chinese Blue & White. These antique Royal Doulton Madras
dinner plates are a departure from the blue & white design but still inspired by the English interest in the mid-1800s with all things Chinese.
