Gift Horse

Gift Horse is a non-profit organization providing forever homes to horses that have experienced mental or physical trauma from their professional careers. Our mission is to heal equine and human trauma using mindful interactions with our Gift Horse equines and clients seeking support healing from traumatic life events.  Our service plan is to provide free equine encounters and equine therapy to children living in the foster care system.  Beyond offering therapeutic services Gift Horse program provides equitation lessons preparing our clients to excel in connecting with horses and learning correct horse handling and equitation.  Our program is explained in our documentary Healing Horses which was submitted to Sundance this year.
