Love going to Tobacco Road Downsizing sales. They are always very organized and laid out well. Love that they provide pictures before the sale to give you an idea of what’s available, and if there are multiple sales in the same day, it’s great to be able to plan your shopping attack.
The sisters that own TRD have a keen eye for style & design, and are just in general, very friendly and down to earth, as well as super knowledgeable about a variety of items found in each home. The staff is always helpful, too. I love shopping from local, family owned businesses and Tobacco Road Downsizing is just that!

This company was amazing! Very professional, knowledgeable and personable. They handled our downsizing sale from start to finish. What a way to go! You get to sit back and let them handle all the details. After the very successful sale, all items remaining were taken away. That was an option we chose. Our first sale day we were under a tornado warning, but the sale still went on. They told me people would be lined up waiting to get in. I was skeptical, but , sure enough, they were right!
Would recommend to anyone looking to downsize without the hassle of doing it yourself.

My five siblings and I needed to clean out my mother's home while none of us lived in NC. Mariah did the work of selling/removing all of her possessions and leaving the home empty and clean, with little to do to put it on the market. They did a fabulous job of posting and selling everything in the house and sending us an itemized list of what each item sold for. Morgan and Mariah were really easy to work with. We were incredibly grateful to be able to bring them in to take care of the entire process with very little intervention on our side. I can't imagine an easier process in the midst of such an emotional time that required much coordination. I would not think twice about using them again and highly recommend them. You'll be completely satisfied.

I recently moved from a 5,000 sq ft home to a smaller one and Mariah handled the downsizing sale. Their hard work and relentless enthusiasm, along with top notch marketing and a dedicated following, resulted in a phenomenally successful sale. Communication before, during and after the sale made this process go smoothly. Both days had long lines, managed efficiently and always with their buyers comfort in mind. I have been a follower of their sales and will continue. If you find yourself in need of downsizing for whatever reason working with Mariah will be a sheer pleasure. Wow! How can I express how absolutely fabulous Mariah of Tobacco Road Downsizing is? Let me begin by saying that you must have absolute trust and confidence in a company when you are clear across the country when your entire household contents are being sold!
That was our situation, and from the very first meeting with Mariah (shortly before we headed out West) through the last day of the sale, we knew that we were in the hands of smart, ethical and knowledgeable professionals. They walked us through every phase of the operation and answered every question we had--no matter how silly or clueless--with respect and patience. I texted them often and every time received a prompt, couteous reply. We felt so fortunate that this huge undertaking was in their capable hands!
I hope I never again have to have another downsizing sale, but if I do I hope and pray there is a firm out here as good as Tobacco Road Downsizing...not better, because there really can't be another group this great!
