In early March 2016 a decision was made to move my parents out of their existing home of 56 years because the house was too much for them. The home and garage had plenty of storage with full attics in both units. Over their 70 years of being married they had accumulated a lot of items. I remember sitting down with both of my parents to discuss how are we going to get everything done by April 21, 2016 as we just sold the house and the new owners wanted possession on that date.

I live in Peoria, Illinois and knew it would be impossible for me to oversee this monumental task let alone participate. My parents were overwhelmed with the task ahead of them, Caring Transitions to the rescue!

Caring Transitions was highly referred to myself by Bridges Retirement Center where my parents were moving to. I contacted Kerri Shimp, the owner
and she immediately returned my call. She explained the various services her company had and how everything worked. We setup a time for Kerri to meet with my parents and they were relieved and impressed with Kerri. We contracted Caring Transitions to do the following:

Determine what was needed to be moved to my parents new location.

Determine what items were going to be sold in an estate sale.

Getting rid of all the junk that should have been taken care of many years ago.

Packed all items and actually moved my folks.

Took care of pricing and getting ready for the estate sell.

Took care of making sure there was plenty of traffic at the estate sell.

Handled all aspects of the estate sell.

Made sure the house and garage was empty and clean when the sell was completed,

Took ownership of the entire process from start to finish with no surprises.

Kerri and her staff were working under a very tight time table but always came to work with a smile and very positive. The staff and Kerri were unbelievable, they were very compassionate and caring with my parents which at times can be challenging. They take great pride in their work and made sure everything was accomplished in the tight time frame. I have nothing but high praise for each and every person

from Caring Transitions, that was involved with my parents' project.

What they were able to do would have taken my family and myself 3-4 months to do and not have the same results!! They were definitely a life saver.
