We have been going to estate sales for over 30 years. In the last seven or eight years, we have noticed that the companies holding the estate sales are from out of state. They also charge between 40-60%! Well, we think that is wrong.
Our intent is to host estate sales in our area where we know the value of items and not overcharge the estate. After all, we are raising money for the person or persons who hired you to host the estate sale. While I realize it does take a lot of effort to research, price and host a sale, it should not cost the estate as much as 60% of the money brought in by the sale.
Hummingbird Estate Sales, LLC fees start at 20% (for items over 10k like vehicles, boats and RV's) and increases to 35%, depending on the size of the estate and items being sold.
