17th Century Furniture and Fine Art

Estate sale for a 20+ year US Air Force Veteran who is a gifted artisan and lover of art and antiques. The smaller and less expensive items were sold this week by on-line auction. Still available are the best pieces in the house. Pick-up will be avaialble on Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm and it is possible for Monday or Tuesday as well.

The first two pieces are actual barn finds from when the owner was stationed to a Royal Air Force base in England and lived off-base in a cottage on a farm in the village of Lakenheath in Suffolk. While poking through the barn, he found a pieces of the bed. Over time he found the whole bed and the refractory table. The family who owned the farm had no idea that the furniture was there. After buying them from his hosts, he found an antique furniture expert who did not do any major refurbishing. He only straightened out some bent pieces of wood back to their original shapes and cleaned away decades and decades of grime sitting in a barn, bringing it back to it's natural luster. Now the family is looking for a new home that will appreciate it as much as he and his wife did.

• Antique Paneled 4 Post Bed: Late 16th or Early 17th Century Tester type, European oak, foot posts carved from 4.5"x4.5" oak, 86" high, oak panel headboard, four oak panels at bottom of headboard with three oak panels in center, 4 cathedral type panels in top. 88" high.
