Extraordinary sale of two collectors, and gardeners. This lovely house on the Greater Wicomico River is delightful..
The gardens are full of outdoor benches and statuary and the indoors is full of china, silver, 19thC portraits, jewelry, books and furniture. This three day sale has literally something for every collector. The 19th century portraits, by an undiscovered artist, have the gentleman likely the owner/editor of the Tipperary Free Press in Pennsylvania. Female portrait of woman and child likely part of his family. The collectors had amassed over 100 oyster plates, many rare and several sets of fine china. The remarkable set of Versaille by Gorham dinner service for 10 is accompanied by at least 50 additional and some rare serving pieces. There is also a large collection of Sterling holloware and flatware and a beautiful silverplated 19thC Epergne. The jewelry consists of a collection of over 25 Gentleman's rings, many are solid gold and others with all sorts of stones..Onyx, Lapis, Carnelian, etc. as well as several gold watch chains. Also Waterford crystal, numerous oriental rugs, wicker furniture, Chippendale sofa, European drum table and other fine antiques. We also are selling a 20th C tall case clock as well as several large fine Cloisonne' vases, mahogany corner cupboard and large Henkle Harris silver chest. We also have(in very good condition) a Brother Innovo 2500D Sewing Machine for Monogramming and assorted accessories. There are certainly many 20thC books and many many things too numerous to mention. And you can't forget to go to the garage to find over 100 Radko Christmas ornaments as well as Steinbock Nutcrackers and many more fine Christmas ornaments..
