"Fisherman on the Shore"; watercolour and bodycolor on blue wove paper; exhibited Toronto Art Gallery 1995 Mark Twain Photograph with SignatureSitter "Nicholas Coleman", canvas stamped "VE KELLEY ARTIST COLORMAN" 18 South Street, Philadelphia". Original carved giltwood frame with rope-carved border. Professionally cleaned by the Smithsonian Institution. NOTE: Nicholas Coleman was a wheelwright working outside of Philadelphia who got scalped by Indians while testing one of his wagon wheels. WILLIAM LOUIS SONNTAG (Am., 1822-1900).
