Maile Duggan raised a family and supported the career of her husband, Colonel Lawrence Duggan, facing the unique challenges that come with a life constantly on the move through tours of duty in Vietnam, Japan, Germany, Thailand, Virginia, North Carolina, and Florida. She found her true home in Alexandria Virginia, where she thrived in a career as a Real Estate agent and Education Specialist at Fort Belvoir. Always active in the community, she served as a Fairfax County Elections Official, USO volunteer at Fort Belvoir, and Board Member of Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation. Maile wreaked so much havoc at the Fairfax County Citizens Police Academy in 2007, that she returned in 2009 for an encore.
Always proud of her Hawaiian heritage, "Auntie" Maile was active in Hawaiian communities in both Hawai'i and on the East Coast. Former President of the Kamehemeha Schools Alumni Association (East Coast Region), she was active with the Daughters of Hawai'i, a founding member of Ke Ali'i Maka'ainana (Hawaiian Civic Club, Washington, DC Chapter), and the Hawai'i State Society. Maile was also an avid student of Hawaiian culture, refining her ukulele and hula skills as a student and former Board Member of Halau O'Aulani where she studied more than two decades. The last memory most of Maile’s family share, is her surprising a dozen loved ones by performing a hula to “White Christmas” during a virtual family reunion in late December.

Military (pins, awards, ephemera, statues, plaques and more)-SECOND SALE
Colonel Duggan’s military career spanned 30 years in a wide variety of assignments. He can talk about the nuances of commanding a M-60 main battle tank, show you his Kenyan Parachute Badge, show off a picture of him suited up in the back of an F-4 Phantom, or reflect on the time he spent in the desert with King Hussein of Jordan coordinating joint military exercises. He takes great pride in having earned his green beret, serving with distinction with US Special Forces everywhere from the jungles of Vietnam in 1963 to commanding officer of the 5th Special Forces Group in 1985 in Fort Bragg, NC. During one of his tours of Vietnam he was wounded in combat, earning his Purple Heart and reducing his rib count by one. He also served in many other capacities including Special Forces detachment commander in Okinawa Japan, tank commander for the 3rd Armored Division in Germany, staff positions in Thailand and The Pentagon in Washington DC, and culminating his career as commander of Special Operations Command Central in Tampa, FL where he retired in 1990.
