I don’t think I’ve ever posted a bed before…

Early 1800s hand-carved “marriage bed”…full size four poster originally from England but hailing from a fabulous estate in Holly Springs, MS and a family that dates back more than 200 years.  “Marriage bed” is a blessing “to be fruitful and multiply”…thus the intricate carvings.

The story of this bed is rich.  The family name, Bouchard.  This may be one of the finest antiques we have ever had the pleasure to represent.  In absolutely mint condition, this bed breaks down into 8 sections.  The details are amazing, the carving is intricate and the hand stamped brass components are all original.
