Terms

Terms and Conditions: We follow the usual time-tested Chapel Hill earlybird tag sale line-up method where the first shopper to arrive AND STAY starts the list. That person is #1. The next person to arrive and stay puts his/her name on the list, and will be #2. Subsequent arrivals who are going to stay and wait, add your name to the list. You can go sit in your car, but don't leave the area or you will lose your place. Your friends can put their names on the list when they show up in person. I will hand out admission numbers to the earlybirds present at 7 a.m. Once you have your number, you can go have coffee/breakfast, etc. - just be sure to be back in time to line yourselves up according to the list at ten minutes till start time.

We accept cash, checks and credit cards with proper id. Tag sale items are are sold "as is", and cannot be returned. We keep plenty of packing paper and boxes on hand for our buyers. Please bring help to load furniture. Purchases must be picked up by the end of the sale. Neither we nor the homeowner can or will be held responsible for accidents. Well-behaved children are ALWAYS welcome at our sales.

Save the date for a great sale in Durham's Hope Valley!  Lots of interesting smalls, sterling silver, modern furniture and more.

We will hand out admission numbers to any earlybirds assembled at 7 a.m.

A few interesting things about this collection:

#1 - Many items are from the estate of American author, broadcaster and journalist Robert St. John.  Here's a link to a Wikipedia article on his fascinating life, which included a brush with Al Capone, direct encounters with antisemitism in Europe, authoring bestselling books, working as an NBC radio announcer, and more:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_St._John         He was honored as "an eloquent non-Jewish spokesman for Jewish causes".

#2 -  We have a large collection of beautifully printed and matted photographs from the body of work of professional photographer Stephen Bromberg.  Of note is a collection of portraits of participants at the NCCU Jazz Festival.

#3 - Lots of "modern" (1960s - 1970s) signed art prints and art

  • original bust of Robert St. John by noted sculptor Ella Turlin
  • original artworks by Dale Nichols
  • signed artist proof prints by Chaim Gross
  • small sculpture by Chaim Gross
  • seagull 3-D metal sculpture in the manner of Curtis Jere

#4.  Better camera equipment (Canon EOS 7D body, several Canon lenses, other Canon cameras).
