One of the finest and most exciting collections of Mid-Century furnishings and Contemporary Art and Sculpture you have ever seen by many known Designers and Artists of the 20th Century - all collected and displayed in a magnificent Tobocman home! The Art Collection includes many nationally and internationally known artists as well as many with Michigan and Cranbrook background, including Andy Warhol, John Chamberlain, Sol Lewitt, Roy Lichtenstein, Arman, Yoko Ono, Donald Judd, Robert Indiana, Hsiang-Ning Han, Tom Sachs, David Barr, Peter Max, Tony King, Piero Fornasetti, and many more!
The Mid-Century furniture designers represented in this sale include Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Afra & Tobia Scarpa, Charles & Ray Eames, Eero Saarinen, Warren Platner, Yngve Ekstrom, George Nelson, Mario Bellini, and others. An Exceptional Collection of Antique Syrian Inlaid Mother of Pearl, Camel Bone, & Wood Mirrors, Chests, Tabourets, and Tables are also part of this sale; as well as Stunning Irving Tobocman-designed Custom Mid-Century bedroom furnishings (beds, nightstands, & chests).
The sale also includes china, crystal, silver, many decorative accessories, a large collection of books, beautiful linens, and much more!
The 91 year old owner has moved this past weekend, and some of the contents of the sale have changed as I was afraid of, but while he changed his mind on some items already advertised, he did not take many more items that he originally planned to, and they are now part of the sale. All contents advertised from this point on will be part of the sale when it opens this Thursday. Thank you for your understanding.
