All credit cards accepted as well as cash. No personal checks, please. All sales are final. Please bring boxes, bags and material to wrap items. Removal of the larger items will require that you bring along some muscle! A sign-up list will be posted by Curious Cat at 8:00 am with doors opening at 9:00 am.

There will be limited parking, some along a long narrow driveway and some along a side street a few houses away. Please look for signs.

This estate sale has a little of everything, in the world of education we would say this is a STEAM sale (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math).  The highlight includes a dozen or so limited edition signed serigraph art deco prints by Erte and Patrick Nagle.  Erte prints include "Tuxedo 1986", "Opium 1985", "Indo-China 1984", and "Red Sea".  All of the Ertes are signed and numbered and in frames in excellent condition, the Nagles are framed as well but two of them have cracked glass and one has no frame, but the prints are in perfect condition.  Also included in the home are four original oil paintings and two famous prints by the famous Maine artist Earle Barlow.  These were purchased through a family relative who was the owner of the "Studio of Ships", an art gallery in Boothbay Harbor in the 70's and 80's.  Included is the 35x29 oil of the beautiful Schooner entitled the "Lillian Woodruff".   Three other similarly sized oils and the prints entitled (Conquest).  Included are the receipts for the original purchases of these beautiful pieces.  There are many other paintings and prints in the home, everyone of them is signed!  We have a Marc Chagall limited edition print.

Before going much further we want to mention that we also have an antique violin (Jerome B. Squire, Maker, Boston, 1887 number 85).  Please see the photos. It also comes with two matching original bows!

Another major component of this eclectic estate sale is a huge book collection!  One of the home's adult children was a medical researcher, another an electrical engineer, the father was involved in scientific research, some for the Russian government, the mother a designer and jeweler.  There are thousands of hardcover books, science books, medical books, computer books, classic college textbooks, and other tomes all in perfect condition!  

As stated above, one of the owners was a former jewelry designer and retailer therefore, the house has lots of string beads, silver chains, lapis, tiger eye, black onyx, turquoise, tourmaline, coral, amber and silver findings. Hundreds of stones, silver settings, jeweler's tools and many items of costume jewelry including bracelets, necklaces, rings, etc.  There is some Mexican silver, a gold-frog pendant and Israeli sterling silver coated figurines,  and so much more there is too many to mention them all.  Oh, we will mention a couple more, we have Russian Sterling Silver coins and US sport stamps on Gold paper.  We keep finding items (please see pictures).  

Soapstone carvings are littered throughout the home, beautiful Chinese Cloisonne Vases (from 8 to 10 inches tall) along with many other smaller Cloisonne vases and a tea pot.  Handblown Cobalt Venetian glass, Ruby depression glass, and other artifacts adorn several beautiful glass cabinets.  Also included is an assortment of Milk glass, midcentury glassware, Red Willow,  North Straffordshire Pottery, wine glasses, and many other vintage items.There is a beautifully carved wooden Buddha and three sets of Russian Matryoshka nesting Dolls.

The other owner was a scientist, researcher, and collector, who threw little away.  There are many geodes, stones, Herkimer stones, carved and turned stones, polished fossils, a petrified Nautilus, etc.  He was also a collector of first mint commemorative coins and olympic memorabilia, including Russian sterling silver coins.  We also have many pages of US sports stamps on gold paper.

Furniture includes a complete Ethan Allen Maple living room set including an 84 inch couch in excellent condition, an end table, a coffee table, a lighted glass hutch (29"w, 82"h), a side table (Diam. 28") along with upholstered wing chair, and two Ethan Allen 8'x10' rugs.  Also in the living room are 4 L Hitchcock, Hitchcocks-ville, matching chairs, a matching bench, an antique cherry canned chair (needs new cane), and a beautiful Monitor Furniture Co. Cherry desk (34"w).  

Also included in an Ethan Allen Maple dining room set including a 6-foot table with two 18" leaves and 6 matching chairs, a lighted glass door hutch (52"w, 7'h), and a matching side-board (could be a bar) on top of which rests an antique Waterbury Clock Co clock which works!  Another primitive clock sits over the fireplace mantel.

Nearby we have a gorgeous black-lacquered Asian Chippendale cabinet with beautiful carved ornate artwork in great shape along with an ornate antique cherry or mahogany cabinet.  In the living room one will also find four Asian nested black lacquered tables.

Last but not least we have an Ethan Allen Maple Queen bedroom set accompanied by two bedside tables, a long dresser (5.5 'l), accompanying mirror and a wonderful hutch (40.5"w, 6'h).  In that same room we have a white vintage sewing table with adjustable machine station, with ample storage for thread and the like.  Top opens up in two directions.  Alongside you will find a Berniana industrial sewing machine and a Bernette serger machine.

Other items include lamps, several maple pinecone beds (single and a full size), an antique cane, a brand new refractory telescope made by The Nature Store,  a 25" by 33" piece of granite, a beautiful chess set, a brand new case of poker chips, an antique violin (mentioned above), and an antique trumpet, vintage cameras, a vintage Pioneer Cassette Deck from the 70's (CT-F950) stored away so its beautiful and works!  A Toshiba tape deck,  and flat screen TV monitors.  We also have a vintage Craftsman table saw, and outside one will find some patio furniture and a greenhouse (fixer-upper).  

The garage has an assortment of gardening tools and many many wrenches and tool kits, a self propelled Toro lawn mower, heavy duty jacks, heavy duty vices, some small hand tools, and a beautiful antique wooden dingy, and anchor, and supplies.

We are still going through the home and other surprises are sure to surface.
